ABOUT SITE:

Site is located in Nawalgarh town of Shekhawati Region. Nawalgarh is known as the Golden City of Rajasthan-lies in the Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan. The site is an abandoned Haveli in Nawalgarh town.

SITE ACCESSIBILITY: Ramdevra Bus station within 1KM, Nawalgarh Railway station within 4KM and site is located adjacent to main Golyana-Nawalgarh-Mandawa highway.

PROJECT BIERF:

The objective of thesis is to design an abandoned haveli located in Nawalgarh town of Jhunjhunu district in Shekhawati region, Rajasthan. Haveli will serve three functions i.e.  teaching art and craft skills(Block printing, Bandhani art, Kantha & Mirror embroidery, Kathputli making, Accessories made out of waste paper and wrappers, Dhurrie making), exhibiting artifacts (made by the women) and manufacturing artifacts empower women of rural areas and promote their skills at various platforms.
